CHARIS

CHARIS, the St. Louis Women’s Chorus, commissioned three photographers to create bodies of work to be used in conjunction with CHARIS’s fall concert, Snapshot, in 2019. The concert was designed to coordinate with the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph exhibit at the Missouri History Museum. They wanted to focus on bringing photography and music together to tell stories of the St. Louis community and especially of folx represented by CHARIS’s mission. They are about celebrating and promoting a greater understanding of equality for women and the LGBTQ community. I reached out to four folx to highlight them in their natural environment and where they felt the most comfortable at that point in their life.
